NEW HAMPSHIRE ACTION ALERT

DEMOCRACY THROWN TO THE WOLVES:

URGENT LETTERS NEEDED BY JANUARY!

If passed by the New Hampshire legislature, House Bill 371 will give the Department of Fish and Game exclusive authority over fish and wildlife throughout the state. This could mean expanded hunting and trapping seasons, increases in hunting permits, and thousands of additional wild animal deaths every year. It also means that the legislature and the public could NEVER override a decision made by this all-powerful, non-elected, politically appointed body.

House Bill 371 has already passed the House Committee on Wildlife and Marine Resources. The bill has been sent to the House floor with a vote scheduled within the first few days of January 1998. Time is critical, and we need your help!

Please contact your State Representative and State Senator in Concord and ask them to vote "NO" on House Bill 371. The Department of Fish and Game already has expansive authority over wildlife in our state; let's not give them more! Ask your elected officials to keep a system of checks and balances by retaining some authority in the hands of the people we elect.
